Week 53 - 2015

Self-driving cars generates lots of data

With each self-driving car expected to generate 2 petabytes of data every year, every aspect of how we own, drive, and service our vehicles will undergo a massive transformation through data.

This is going to be interesting. What tools are they using to analyze their data? How do they store all this data? Is this going to make our traffic safer and the cars more reliable?

Workplaces need more walls, not fewer

Google got it wrong. The open-office trend is destroying the workplace.

Is open-offices make us more or less productive? I tend to agree with the author of this article.

Forget me not

PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THIS COMMENTED-OUT VERSION!
This is the old version of expand-file-name, before it was thoroughly
rewritten for Emacs 10.31. We leave this version here commented-out,
because the code is very complex and likely to have subtle bugs. If
bugs are found, it might be of interest to look at the old code and
see what did it do in the relevant situation.

A glance back in time. Emacs 13 was released back in 1985!
